Director of Event Services
Working as a Director of Event Services for the company will allow you the opportunity to work with great people like yourself! You will be responsible for managing the catering/events department, overseeing all internal and external catering for the account, managing client relationships, and ensuring that the food and service at the functions is of superior quality.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage the following direct reports:
- Event Service Manager - Responsible for recruiting/hiring/onboarding all onsite staff team members and scheduling of all onsite staff
- Event Managers/Event Chefs - Responsible for recruiting/hiring/onboarding of event managers/event chefs
- Develop and implement training programs for all new and current service staff; ensure staff training programs are implemented and measured regularly
- Regularly attend events through the main part of the event to oversee the operation
- Participate in the operations meeting to collaborate with operations and culinary to ensure execution of each event can be achieved at the highest level; ensure each event has been staffed properly with the correct talent
- Conduct regular meetings with the Director of Sales, Creative Director, Event Designers, Event Production Managers, Culinary Director, as well as the CEO to continuously evaluate strategies and ideas for enhancements to benefit the guests' experience
- Continuously available to monitor on-site execution of Catering by Design standards
- In collaboration with the Human Resources Manager, ensure that employee manuals are current and relevant
Preferred qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- 8+ years in catering or hotel banquet industry
- 5+ years' senior leadership experience
- 5+ years' experience in planning and implementing event details
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Willingness to commit to an average work week of 50 hours, which will require weekend and evening hours
- Valid driver's license & reliable transportation for multiple locations at all times of the day
- Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
