Title: Cloud Virtualization Engineer Location:
Must be willing to work on-site rotation with one week onsite and the next remote.Education: Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Clearance: Secret Certification:
- IAT II or higher 8570/8140 Certification.
- VMWARE Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) within 9 months of hire date
Experience:
- Proven experience of 10 years IT experience with 5 years in Virtualization
- Hands-on experience provisioning ESX hosts.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Cloud Direct Virtual Datacenters).
Job Description: As a Cloud Virtualization Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of the infrastructure of an on-premises cloud environment. The candidate shall work closely with the team to ensure the integrity and security of the infrastructure. The ideal candidate must have a strong technical background in creating, managing, and monitoring ESX hosts and the environment in a secure facility. Skills & Requirements Key Responsibilities: Although the job responsibilities vary from one company to other, however, the concept remains the same for any organization. As a cloud virtualization engineer, you are required to understand the pros and cons of setting-up and running software in the environment. The position includes these standard job duties
- To configure ESX hosts to be added into the datastores
- To implement security policies and to secure method access
- To perform tasks to optimize performance of ESX host and maintain clusters
- To work closely with vendor technical consultants and strategic partners to resolve issues
- To manage customer account satisfaction from a technical standpoint
- To deliver customized cloud virtualization from different vendors including VMware, Microsoft, Dell, and HP
