Role Overview: As a Dimensional Product Engineer, you will be part of either the New Product Development or Production Engineering team, collaborating closely with manufacturing to design and implement robust processes and tooling essential for our growth in the industrial and aerospace sectors. You'll work with cutting-edge tooling concepts using 3D modeling software.

Problem-solving is a crucial aspect of this role. You will identify and define problems, conduct root cause analyses, and implement standard methodologies (such as PDCA and Six Sigma) to enhance yield, minimize rework, and boost overall product quality.

Periodic travel to other CPP facilities, customers, and vendors will be part of your responsibilities, providing you with essential technical support and problem-solving insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain best practice investment casting procedures.
  • Utilize various problem-solving tools and techniques.
  • Oversee the construction of dies, gages, and tooling for producing cores, wax patterns, and castings.
  • Coordinate with tooling vendors to ensure the delivery of high-quality tools/dies at competitive prices.
  • Ensure control of the dimensional quality of castings.
  • Analyze process yields through statistical and mathematical techniques, including DOE and Six Sigma.
  • Maintain a strong command of GD&T and interpret blueprints, drawings, and CAD models (preferably NX).
  • Engage in Gage R&R, SPC, and other cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Propose and implement new process technologies that enhance manufacturing and product capabilities.
  • Document work procedures and processes while contributing to cross-departmental goals.
  • Foster a positive work atmosphere through respectful communication and professionalism.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Maintain reliability and attendance at our Chittenango facility.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering or 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment casting, tooling design, and CAD (preferably NX).
  • Strong communication skills, proficiency in PC applications, and program management abilities.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Knowledge of structured light tools and programming.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
  • A demonstrated career progression with increasing responsibilities.
  • A motivated individual with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
