WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Ensure the CONTINUITY OF CARE between Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital and other facilities/locations to which patients need to arrive.
Ensuring that QUALITY and SAFETY are present while transporting other people is a requirement in achieving our commitment to the wellness of our patients and our community.
The Non-Emergency Patient Transport Driver will have a powerful impact on the quality of care our patients receive by making sure they get where they need to be safely, timely, and with compassionate care.
The person who takes on this role will make sure that when it comes to the transportation of human lives to and from our facility, that every single patient continues to receive the BEST care possible, even beyond the walls of our hospital.
Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Clinical Services, the Driver will work closely with Case Managers to ensure every patient gets where they need to be so that they continue their course of care.
The position is an hourly, non-exempt, overtime eligible position with a wage range of: $22.10/hr-$31.89/hr based on experience.
THIS POSITION IS A PART-TIME POSITION WITH THE HOURS OF OPERATIONS EXPECTED TO BE 3pm to 9pm Monday-Friday.
There is a strong possibility that this role could turn to a FULL-TIME position in the near future.

Though we do need to meet some minimum requirements for the position such as a High School Diploma or Equivalent, and a valid Driver's License in the State of California, we're really looking for people who bring their HEART to work.
A valid California Driver's License, clean MVR, and personal motor vehicle insurance that meets the minimum California State Regulations.
Our patients, our community, and our co-workers RELY on us to be committed to their wellness and as a result, the person filling this role must bring with them a level of awareness when it comes to safety while driving that allows us to meet this goal.
Through prevention, intervention, treatment, and education, we can and we will make a difference not just here in Bakersfield, but throughout our extended communities and the Driver will be an exemplary role model to others in our efforts to achieve that mission on the road.
You should have a current BLS CPR certification when you apply or obtain BLS CPR certification prior to your start date.
Additionally, you'll complete a Handle-With-Care Physical Restraint Technique Training during your orientation.
