Position Overview:
The State of Mississippi is seeking a skilled SQL/ORACLE Programmer to support the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MSDOC). The candidate will be responsible for database development, maintenance, reporting, and support of existing and new applications. This is an onsite position located in Jackson, MS.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, create, and maintain database tables and objects.
Generate and deliver data reports to business stakeholders.
Develop and maintain SSIS jobs and packages.
Monitor and troubleshoot database jobs, backups, and transactions.
Identify and resolve technical issues reported by agency staff.
Provide technical guidance to project teams and end-users.
Document and maintain existing applications.
Ensure data security, quality, and integrity.
Perform related duties as assigned for application support.
Required Skills & Experience:
5–7 years of experience in:
SQL and ORACLE database systems
SQL coding and report development
Database management and application support
Report development for executive and departmental use
Experience with:
SQL Server
Data presentation using charts and reporting tools
Preferred Skills (Not Required):
Crystal Reports (5–7 years)
PL-Edit (3–5 years)
Microsoft Excel (5–7 years)
Database tools such as TOAD or SAS
Windows Server environments: 2008R2, 2012, 2016
