Austin Oaks Hospital is seeking qualified, energetic candidates for the position of Transportation Van Driver. This role provides essential transportation services for patients attending outpatient programs at our central and new San Marcos locations. The duties include ensuring safe and timely transportation, milieu management, and crisis intervention for adolescents and adults.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to consistently fulfill responsibilities, knowledge of patient rights and Texas driving laws, and skill in developing therapeutic relationships with patients and staff. Effective communication, patience, and tact are necessary for this role. A high school diploma or GED is required, with a minimum of one year of college preferred. Current CPR certification or ability to pass CPR training during the initial employment period is mandatory. Valid Texas Driver's License is required, with one year of driver experience in hospital or psychiatric services preferred.

Physical requirements include the full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and the ability to lift, carry, and/or lower items weighing up to 50 pounds. The position requires standing and walking for 6+ hours per day, frequent bending, stooping, and reaching to check or move equipment. Hearing and vision must be sufficient to perform essential functions. Emotional stability is necessary to perform essential functions.
