Job Location : Spartanburg,SC, USA
Under the supervision of the Director of Landscape Services, or senior staff, the landscape technician is responsible for the preparation, management, and beautification of the university properties. Tasks include mowing, trimming, and turf areas; pruning and trimming trees and shrubs; picking up and removing litter, leaves, and debris; weeding both mechanically and chemically; planting, watering, fertilizing, flowers, trees, etc.; removing snow and ice from walks and roads; and assisting in maintenance of grounds equipment, tools, etc. In all functions, material that is mowed, pruned, cut, etc., is recycled (mulched, composted, etc.).
Minimum qualifications: high school diploma/or equivalent (GED) and 1 year related experience or equivalency. A valid drivers license with a good driving record is required. Successful background check is required. A negative pre-employment drug screen is required.
Preferred qualifications: desire 2 years of grounds maintenance or related work experience consisting of general knowledge of plants and landscaping.
