Under the direction of a qualified physician, performs a variety of technical procedures in the application of non-ionizing high frequency ultrasound waves to humans for diagnostic purposes. Performs all technical procedures required for the ultrasonic assessment of OB/ GYN patients. - - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - - Performs routine and specialized ultrasound studies related to Obstetrics and Gynecology. Prepares patients for examinations and explains procedures prior to performing studies. Obtains complete patient history and documents in patients computer file. Recognizes significance of all structures that are visualized at all times. Differentiates artifacts from normal or pathological processes and recognizes equipment limitations. Recognizes a diagnostic versus incomplete scan and interprets any pathology that may be present Discusses findings with PNC physician. Properly make permanent recordings of studies for patients files using digital imaging, video tapes and thermal printers....Sonographer, Ob/Gyn, Ultrasound, Laboratory, Healthcare, Patient, Physician
