This is a Senior Community Health Nurse position under the supervision of the Senior Community Health Nursing Supervisor with the Florida Department of Health in Lee County. The incumbent provides public health nursing services for clients in FDOH -Lee clinics. This position is classified as a sensitive position. Incumbent handles protected health information on a need to know basis following Department of Health, HIPAA and Information Security and privacy policy. Employee abides by State/ Federal laws governing health information. Responsible to maintain confidentiality, security, privacy and integrity of protected health information. Refers and utilizes DOH 50-10-05. This position has access to the following information sets: Medical Records, Laboratory Reports, Immunizations, and the electronic health records system.
