Provides a means, wheelchair or stretcher, and transports patient to and from the required locations throughout the Medical Center, including the Morgue, in a safe and orderly manner. Assists the patient care team in transferring patients safely to and from a wheelchair, stretcher and/or examination table. Provides a secondary source to hold and/or position a patient if necessary. Makes rounds throughout the Medical Center to clear hallways of wheelchairs, stretchers and other equipment. Collaborates with the patient care team to maintain a safe and clean environment. Maintain infection prevention practices by sanitation of patient rolling equipment with approved germicide in between patient use. Use safe lifting procedures and practices. Responsible for oxygen (O 2) tank maintenance. Effectively communicates with the patient care team members, patients, and families.
