Position Summary:
The Senior Director of Ticketing will serve as a key leader within the Ticketing department, overseeing national ticketing operations, revenue strategy, and team development. This role requires deep expertise in various ticketing systems, tour builds, market dynamics, and the evolving landscape of live event ticketing. The Senior Director will be responsible for driving advanced ticket pricing strategies, optimizing inventory management, and executing data-driven promotions to maximize revenue. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in live entertainment ticketing, including dynamic pricing, sales forecasting, and promotional strategies, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Comprehensive Ticketing Strategy: Oversee and guide the full lifecycle of ticketing operations across all tours and special events. Develop and implement innovative ticket pricing models, including dynamic pricing strategies that maximize revenue based on demand, market trends, and historical sales data.
- Dynamic Pricing & Inventory Management: Implement real-time dynamic pricing models and optimize ticket inventory for different markets. Monitor ticket sales and adjust pricing dynamically, based on demand fluctuations, to ensure optimal pricing levels across different regions and venues.
- Promotions and Revenue Maximization: Collaborate with marketing team to design and execute targeted ticket promotions, including early-bird sales, presales, exclusive offers, and VIP packages. Utilize data insights to craft promotions that drive sales, attract targeted audiences, and maintain profitability.
- Strategic Partnerships: Act as the primary liaison with ticketing platforms (e.g., Ticketmaster, AXS) and venue box offices nationwide.
- Revenue Strategy & Forecasting: Regularly assess the financial performance of ticketing campaigns and sales, adjusting strategies to hit or exceed revenue targets.
- Industry Insight & Innovation: Stay current with rapidly evolving ticketing technologies, market trends, and best practices in the live events space. Evaluate and implement new ticketing platforms, tools, and technologies that provide competitive advantages and improve operational efficiency.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor the ticketing team to ensure consistent service excellence, operational accuracy, and high performance. Establish clear objectives and deliver regular training on best practices, pricing strategies, and the latest industry trends.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with teams across Booking, Marketing, Finance, and Production to ensure seamless integration of ticketing strategies into broader event planning and execution. Provide insights to optimize event schedules, ticket launches, and promotional strategies.
- Real-Time Sales Monitoring: Continuously monitor ticket sales in real-time, adjusting ticket prices, promotions, and inventory to optimize sales performance and ensure efficient revenue capture.
- Ticketing Software & System Management: Stay up-to-date on the latest ticketing system developments and software updates. Regularly assess and implement new features and tools to increase efficiency, improve customer experience, and maintain accuracy in ticketing operations.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in ticketing for live touring or concert promotion, with at least 3+ years in a senior leadership role. Demonstrated success in managing large-scale, multi-market tours and high-profile events.
- Deep understanding of major ticketing systems (Ticketmaster, AXS, etc.) and their capabilities, including dynamic pricing functionality, analytics, and promotional tools.
- Ability to develop and execute comprehensive revenue strategies and promotions, utilizing data analysis, market research, and sales forecasting to inform decisions.
- Proven ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders, with a focus on achieving shared goals and driving results.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Spreadsheets, etc.), and relevant ticketing and CRM software.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability and interest to stay informed and adapt to rapidly changing trends and technologies in live event ticketing, such as AI-powered pricing models, blockchain ticketing, and other innovations in the ticketing space.
