APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company in Wixom, MI looking to add an Applications Engineer to their already amazing team. Their primary responsibility will be to provide technical expertise and solutions for customers to use products or systems to meet their specific needs. Could this be the job for you?

What your day will look like:

· Collaborate with sales, engineering, and customers to design innovative augmented reality systems.

· Develop detailed scopes of work, bills of materials, and concept drawings for each system design.

· Deeply understand our software and technology capabilities to create effective, maintainable solutions.

· Research and specify hardware components including sensors, actuators, enclosures, projectors, computers, PLCs, robots, smart tools, cameras, cables, pneumatics, gauges, and networking equipment.

· Evaluate software packages for communication and interoperability, such as MES, ERP, MRP, QMS, MOM, PLM, and CAD systems.

· Apply manufacturing best practices like Toyota Production System, Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, and ergonomics.

· Design mechanical elements including workbenches, mounting plates, brackets, tooling, fixtures, linear rails, and mobile workstations.

· Support operations with system assembly, installation, training, documentation, and ongoing assistance.

· Conduct regular customer site visits to identify opportunities and assist with installations and support.

· Continuously improve and optimize all related processes to enhance performance and outcomes.

What we are looking for:

· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering (or related field)

· 3–5 years of professional experience; background in manufacturing required

· Data center or electronics manufacturing experience preferred

· Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20–25% as needed
