Scelzi Enterprises Inc is seeking a Plant Manager for our Shafter, California location. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of daily operations for Production, including final inspections. The Plant Manager will plan, organize, direct, and coordinate workflow as well as ensure the efficiency and productivity of the location operations. The Plant Manager must be able to perform office duties such as reviewing employee timesheets, assisting with any employee related issues, and be familiar with Microsoft Office programs. The candidate must have outstanding communication skills and work closely with all departments to meet our customers' schedules and deadlines.Previous work experience as a MIG welder is also required.

Salary Starting at $100k per year

Key Responsibilities

  • Measure productivity and/or goal achievement to identify areas needing improvement.
  • Oversee all activities of all departments including but not limited to production, maintenance, transportation, administration/front office, and parts store.
  • Apply leadership to develop personnel and systems that will place the manufacturing operation in an industry-leading position in terms of cost and quality.
  • Monitor and coordinate daily production flow with production supervisors.
  • Establish departmental goals, objectives, or procedures in conjunction with organization officials.
  • Perform quarterly inventory assessments.
  • Perform personnel functions such as selection, training, and evaluation for current and potential employees.
  • Meet and assist customers as needed.
  • Work independently as well as in a team environment, maintaining a hands-on approach.
  • Work flexible hours as needed to support production demands.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Competencies/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent years of experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment .
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials, particularly sheet metal fabrication.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, leadership skills, and good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to MIG weld.
  • Must have supervisory experience.
  • Experience with automotive systems (electrical, drivetrain, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.) preferred.

Work EnvironmentThis job operates in an office and shop environment. The position includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. Must be able to lift 50 pounds periodically. May require working outdoors in non-controlled environmental conditions. Requires walking, standing, repetitive movement, and using hands to handle and operate tools and controls, and to detect flaws. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required, including safety glasses, work boots, and ear protection.

Additional Eligibiity QualificationsMust pass basic math test.Must pass weld test.Must pass pre-employment drug test and physical examination.Periodic travel to our Fresno, California facility will be required, primarily for training purposes.
