Logistics Specialist
The Opportunity: This position will support Operations by processing material receipts, shipping product to customers, and general inventory management. You will interface with all departments, enabling company success by ensuring material is where it needs to be when it needs to be there. This position will report to our Logistics Lead, who sits in our Rochester, NY office.
How I will Contribute:
• Receive incoming material using established processes and systems for Production as well as other departments such as Facilities, Engineering, etc.
• Open and visually confirm contents of each delivery, properly receive into inventory or production, and manage the movement of materials in and out of inventory.
• Deliver all approved and identified job material to proper inventory shelves, racks, or work locations.
• Use Microsoft Dynamics Business Central to complete all transactions.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and security of material storage areas.
• Process all shipping functions, including obtaining material, packing, and creating packing lists and shipping labels.
• Assist with coordinating delivery carriers for shipments, such as FedEx, USPS, UPS and local couriers.
• Track incoming/outgoing packages and compile data daily.
• Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
• A Minimum of 3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, and/or inventory management is required.
• Experience with shipping hazardous materials is preferred.
• Proficient in Office 365, Word, and Excel.
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or another MRP/ERP system is preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Experience with Military Shipping Standards (MIL-STD-129) is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to have skillful communication with team members across multiple departments and levels.
• Experience with ISO 9001 is preferred.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills is required.

• Ability to work and sustain attention with distractions and/or interruptions.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance and be punctual.
• Ability to understand, remember and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time.

• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
• Occasionally, ascends/descends a step ladder as needed.
• The ability to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand.
• Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
• The ability to observe details at a close range.
• Frequently moves boxes and lift up to 40 pounds.
