We're seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President to join our Credit Management team in the Credit Services Platform. This role is located in New York, NY.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Analyze complex entities and structures to evaluate the business justification for Institutional Bank credit requests and support the Bank's overall credit strategy.
  • Drive business review process for credit transactions by: (i) reviewing transaction term sheets, client revenue trends, and opportunities to grow the business relationship; (ii) calculating returns on capital required for the exposure; (iii) evaluating exposure and revenue relative to other lenders; and, (iv) working with business partners to crystallize the business justification for any credit ask.
  • Advise business partners on regulatory capital and liquidity implications related to various types of committed and uncommitted exposure.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure BNY's objectives on balance sheet discipline and franchise value are achieved.
  • Lead special projects and contribute to the achievement of BNY's investment performance goals and related team objectives.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

  • Bachelor's degree, related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced degree (MBA or other Masters) or certification such as CFA is welcomed.
  • Experience in credit, banking or financial and risk analysis required; familiarity with bank treasury concepts (regulatory capital and liquidity) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • High proficiency with financial modeling tools (including Microsoft Excel) is necessary; experience with coding languages (Python, SQL, etc.) is welcomed but not mandatory.
  • Team-oriented, motivated individual with 5-7 years of total work experience.
  • Role has no direct reports.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $68,000 and $135,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
