Security guards prevent risks and deter crime, watch out for looming danger, and report any crime they may encounter. A security guard or security officer is a person who is paid to protect property, assets, or people.

Essential Functions

• Exhibits strong customer service skills while greeting and meeting patients, employees and visitors.
• Provides assistance to patients requesting help.
• Remains stationed at entrances to assist visitors and staff.
• Maintains appropriate levels of wheelchairs at entrances.
• Provides directions and information, assists with change orders and distribution.
• Performs periodic checks of perimeter doors and conducts building walkthroughs.
• Monitors TempTrack to ensure safety and quality of contents, taking action if needed.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience: High school diploma, completion of Security Certification, First Aid and CPR certification (or obtain within 90 days), valid Florida drivers license with a safe record, Florida Security D license (or obtain within 90 days).

Must have reliable transportation.

Preferred Education and Experience

Completion of a 2-year Associate of Science degree in criminal justice with 1-3 years of security experience.

Additional Qualifications

• Attend basic and advanced training for chiller and fire panel resets within 30 days.
• Knowledge of fire extinguisher use and patient transfer ergonomics.
• Willingness to attend ongoing education in hospitality and patient services.
• Customer service and public interaction experience.
• Basic computer skills and cash handling experience.
• Calm demeanor in crises, dependable with excellent attendance.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit long periods and assist with patient transport.
