Responsibilities:
- Embody & lan Academy's mission, vision, and values;
- Participate in an annual summer staff orientation and training;
- Conduct functional behavior assessments and develop individualized behavior intervention plans
- Provide direct support to scholars experiencing behavioral challenges through evidence-based interventions
- Implement de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies in a calm, professional manner
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting intervention strategies as needed
- Collaborate with teachers to modify classroom environments and instructional approaches to support positive behavior.
- Design and implement school-wide positive behavior support systems
- Develop age-appropriate social-emotional learning activities and curricula
- Create and maintain behavior tracking systems and data collection protocols
- Coordinate recognition and reward systems to reinforce positive scholar behavior
- Maintain regular, proactive communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress
- Facilitate parent conferences and behavior support meetings
- Provide families with resources and strategies to support positive behavior at home
- Serve as a liaison between school and family to ensure consistent behavior expectations
Qualifications: Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
- Experience working with children ages 4-10 in educational or therapeutic settings
- Knowledge of positive behavior intervention strategies and de-escalation techniques
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
- Patience, empathy, and cultural sensitivity when working with students and families
