AFS Architectural Framing Systems Job Description

AFS Architectural Framing Systems is a segment within Apogee that provides aluminum windows, curtainwall (soon to be retired), storefront, and entrance systems. Job Overview: Assists in accurately handling inventory according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Materials team works together to receive, pick, pack, and ship product to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to manage inventory, including cycle counting and stock rotation.
  • Understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) for tracking and reporting inventory.
  • Basic problem-solving skills for handling discrepancies in orders or inventory.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions.
  • Perform basic computer functions related to data entry.
  • Strong organizational skills for efficient space utilization and inventory management.
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle materials safely.
  • Must be cross-trained and able to support all Material Handler I roles.

Wage: $19.25 / Hour + $2 Shift Premium for 2nd, 3rd and Night Positions

Hours: A / B Nights (2-2-3 Schedule): 6p - 6a 2nd Shift (M - F) 2p - 10p 3rd Shift (M - F) 10p - 6a

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Essential Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Operation of basic material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks).
    • Ability to use and accurately read measuring devices (tape measures).
    • Ability to use hand tools (hammer, wrench, level, etc.).
    • Ability to follow blueprints.
    • Ability to read and interpret Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Ability to use a computer with basic proficiency (data entry).
