Wells Fargo is seeking an RMBS Structurer at the VP level to join our team within the Mortgage Finance Group (MFG). The Structuring & Analytics team within the MFG is responsible for the front-office analytical aspects of the business including structuring transactions, underwriting collateral credit, advising clients on asset disposition strategies, valuing mortgage assets, tracking market conditions, managing portfolio risks and presenting performance metrics to management. Primary responsibilities will be:

  • Leading the structuring of Residential Mortgage-Backed Security transactions spanning a variety of asset classes including Prime Jumbo, Non-QM, CRT, RTL, SFR, HELOC, etc.
  • Coordinating between the client, relationship managers, traders, syndicate, rating agencies, lawyers and accountants to ensure a smooth execution process
  • Utilizing structuring and market knowledge to provide structural solutions and valuations on mortgage-related assets for various purposes including financing arrangements and client advisory activities
  • Monitoring market conditions and collateral performance, reporting key metrics and leading discussions with internal partners
  • Collaborating with the origination & capital markets team, portfolio management team, mortgage trading desks and credit risk officers

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 5+ years of Investment Banking experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in structured finance with direct experience structuring RMBS deals
  • Direct experience with collateral tools and structuring software (i.e. CAS, Intex, Bloomberg, Polypaths, and Yieldbook)
  • Proficiency with coding languages, databases and visualization tools (i.e. Python, SQL, and PowerBI)
  • Advanced understanding of capital markets and mortgage banking
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand environment while balancing multiple priorities
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration and adaptability are important
  • BS/BA degree or higher in a quantitative field such as mathematics, physics, or engineering or equivalent experience

Job Expectations:

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Registration for FINRA Security Industry Essentials (SIE) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for FINRA Series 7 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Base pay range for this position in New York/Charlotte is 250,000.00 USD
  • May be considered for a discretionary bonus, Restricted Share Rights or other long-term incentive awards

Pay Range Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates. $185,000.00 - $300,000.00
