PART TIME-DAYS - Scope to Work. The Pacemaker Technician works directly with patients to provide PPM/ ICD device analysis, detection of problems and initiation of interventions, and continued follow-up under the direction of the physician. The pacemaker technician is responsible for performing interrogations, determining pacing thresholds, reprogramming devices, and assessing battery statuses. The technician will be involved in research protocols, specific guidelines will be reviewed for each protocol. Qualifications. Formal or informal training in pacemaker devices required. The Pacemaker Technician needs to have a good background in cardiac care with respect to arrhythmia monitoring skills. E/ P Lab or Cath Lab experience preferred. BCLS/ ACLS required, EKG interpretation experience required, NACVT or similar certification preferred.
