R. J. Corman Railroad Company is seeking a Mechanical Team Member for our team in Dayton, TX. As a Mechanical Team Member, you will perform maintenance on locomotives, railroad cars, equipment, service repairs, and perform FRA inspections. Responsibilities:
- Locomotive repairs including mechanical, air and electrical.
- Welding and oxygen/acetylene torching.
- General repairs of other equipment if necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintain safe and clean work area.
Specialized or Technical Knowledge, or Education and Experience:
- Experienced in welding (Mig and Arc) required
- Knowledge of power and hydraulic tools
- Experience in rail car repair preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Requires constant standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and balancing in a safe manner
- Requires frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching
- Able to frequently lift and carry equipment weighing up to 30lbs
- Able to push and pull with 100lbs of force, the force required to push/pull hand brakes
