Administers respiratory care treatments and life support to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of cardiopulmonary system, under supervision of a Physician and by prescription. Evaluates and performs both basic and advanced respiratory care procedures on a repetitive basis. MINIUM EDUCATION: High school diploma or completion of a GED program. Must be currently enrolled in good academic standing in the second year of a two-year American Medical Association (AMA) approved school for Respiratory Care. Continuous enrollment with good academic standing is required to maintain active employment status. Graduate of an accredited entry-level AMA approved school for Respiratory Care preferred. MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE: None REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS: CPR (BLS) certification required. Must become a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) within 3 months of eligibility.
