Adelphi is seeking a dedicated Psychiatrist to provide onsite care in Fort Bend County, Texas. The ideal candidate will serve as part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a structured and supportive environment.Job Quick Facts • Ref#: BD-673-30 • Profession: Physician • Specialty: Psychiatrist • Job Type: Full-time (minimum 2-month contract) • Location: Fort Bend County, Texas • Coverage Type: Onsite (1 day/week telework may be considered) • Service Setting: Inpatient • Facility Type: Residential Living Facility • Shift Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch break) • Start Date: Week of 08/11/2025 • Compensation: $130 $150/hourRequirements • MD or DO, licensed (unrestricted) to practice in Texas • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry • Current DEA registration and NPI number • Eligible to enroll as a Medicaid/Medicare Part B provider • Completion of psychiatric residency • Minimum 3 years of psychiatric experience preferred • Experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities or mental illness strongly preferred • Knowledge of psychotropic medication efficacy, side effects, and polypharmacy • Strong diagnostic, treatment planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills • Must complete all compliance requirements prior to start date no exceptions • Must pass urine drug screening and FBI fingerprint background check • Valid government-issued photo ID requiredResponsibilities: • Perform psychiatric evaluations and medication reviews in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team (IDT). • Diagnose and treat individuals using psychotropic medications and evidence-based interventions. • Develop and update individualized psychiatric treatment plans based on clinical assessments and team input. • Conduct quarterly, follow-up, and emergency psychiatric clinics as needed. • Collaborate with neurology, behavioral health, and medical professionals to ensure coordinated care. • Monitor lab results, modify treatments accordingly, and document thoroughly in the electronic health record. • Participate in treatment planning meetings, audits, and quality improvement initiatives. • Manage acute psychiatric episodes, authorize emergency medications or restraints, and coordinate hospitalizations when indicated. • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and internal clinical standards (DOJ, HHS, ICF-IID, etc.). • Provide consultation and support to behavioral and direct care staff. • Complete required agency-specific and state-mandated training prior to assuming full duties. • Participate in emergency preparedness or COOP activities as assigned.
