Global Internship And Research Program Manager

The Office of Global Opportunities is seeking a Global Internship and Research Program Manager. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position. The responsibilities of the Global Internship and Research Program Manager (Program Manager) are to serve as lead and primary contact for an internship/research program administered by OSU GO on behalf of Oregon State University and a broader network of partner universities for OSU's collaborative platform, IE3 Global. This position reports to the Director of the OSU Office of Global Opportunities. The Program Manager is charged with developing and maintaining an innovative and strategic internship and research program that aligns with The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) competencies and institutional goals for experiential learning across academic disciplines.

The Program Manager will build strong partnerships with academic, student support and administrative units to ensure that the program is responsive to the needs of students and institutional partners. The Program Manager oversees all aspects of program management including site and partnership development, pedagogy, financial management, program promotion, and assessment. The Program Manager establishes and assesses student qualifications for a successful cross-cultural and professional development experience. Additionally, the Program Manager provides comprehensive advising and support to students from application through program completion, attends to the content and flow of all program materials, and evaluates the student experience to improve outcomes for students and accessibility of the program for students from all backgrounds and demographics. The Program Manager also works on unit-wide projects to grow programs, implement efficiencies and better serve students and campus partners.

The Program Manager position requires occasional weekend and evening work and travel within the Pacific Northwest and nationally. International travel is likely to be assigned.

What You Will Need:

  • Master's degree in any academic field.
  • Demonstrated work experience in student development, student advising, internship coordination, career development, and/or study abroad.
  • Record of establishing networks with a variety of stakeholders (e.g., academic faculty, administrators, advisors or other higher education professionals), designing efficient administrative processes, effective interpersonal skills.
  • Intercultural competency specifically focused on effective communication in diverse cultural situations.
  • Commitment to advancing the participation of diverse groups, and to removing barriers and creating opportunities for access and success for all students.
  • Strong technical skills, including ability to administer programming through online data management, surveying, media presentation, spreadsheets and other related software.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and attention to detail.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

Working Conditions / Work Schedule: The position is based in Corvallis and requires in-person presence on the OSU campus. Some weekend and evening work will be required, and international travel is a component of the position. Pay Method: Salary. Pay Period: 1st through the last day of the month. Pay Date: Last working day of the month. Recommended Full-Time Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000.
