Location: Charleston, SC
Salary Range: $75,000-$100,000 Annually

About the Role
We're seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Estimator to join our team in Charleston, SC. This role plays a critical part in the pre-construction phase, serving as the key link between business development and construction operations. The Estimator is responsible for upholding our core values-Creativity, Communication, and Quality-while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strategic planning from project inception through turnover. You'll lead estimating efforts across a variety of project delivery methods and pre-construction services, helping shape the foundation of successful builds.
Key Responsibilities
Document Control
Organize and maintain all project documentation
Distribute bid documents to trade partners and vendors
Archive estimate spreadsheets, vendor quotes, and subcontractor proposals
Access & Logistics Planning
Collaborate with operations to develop site access and logistics plans
Share plans with trade partners and vendors
Preliminary Scheduling
Coordinate with operations to create preliminary schedules for pricing
Distribute schedules to relevant stakeholders
Site Visits & Data Gathering
Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits
Document site conditions with notes and photos
Assess scope of work with engineering and testing teams
Cost Estimation
Analyze project documents to fully understand scope
Identify self-perform and subcontracted work
Perform detailed quantity take-offs and complete estimates
Coordinate with operations on productivity rates
Present estimates during project turnover meetings
Track time spent on estimating tasks per project
Provide conceptual estimates for litigation-related projects
Review estimates with operations and preconstruction leadership
Subcontractor & Vendor Relations
Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors
Support development of a comprehensive trade partner database
Continuing Education
Research specified materials and products
Save product data sheets within project folders
Collaboration & Client Engagement
Serve as the primary point of contact during preconstruction
Act as liaison between business development, operations, consultants, and clients
Prepare and present materials for post-bid interviews
Deliver project estimates to clients and design teams
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in construction estimating
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to interpret complex project documents
Proficiency in quantity take-offs and cost analysis
Collaborative mindset with a focus on quality and precision
