Job Summary
Provides direct patient care and other services, under the direction and supervision of a licensed professional, to patients during the ambulatory perioperative process. Responsible for complete and thorough performance of assigned tasks, addressing specific needs of patients as necessary. Provides support services as assigned on the various nursing units by assisting the professional staff and ensuring the safety of the patient until discharge.

Under the direction of the Registered Professional Nurse or a Physician gathers data relevant to the patient's needs, and assists in the implementation of the plan of care.
Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide safe care appropriate to the age and developmental level of the patient.
Communicates relevant patient information and demonstrates responsibility in the Unlicensed Assistive Personnel role.
Contributes to the organization of the unit by consistently observing safety and security policies and procedures, reporting potentially unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel.
Complies with all quality assurance, customer focus, infection control, safety and all policies and procedures with the department and facility.
Responds to a variety of situations which may arise in the pre and postoperative patient care episode, including those which are potentially life threatening or performed in an emergency situation. Must react quickly and efficiently within scope of authority; consults licensed personnel or physician regarding emergencies. Perform other related duties as assigned by authorized personnel or as may be required to meet emergencies.
Typical day can include escorting patients to/from designated areas, participating in an efficient work flow, inventory coordination, and providing a positive first impression and experience for all patients.
Evolve in your role when performing supplemental responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements and Qualifications
HS Diploma or GED .
Current CNA Certification, preferred.
Computer skills required with minimum proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
Physical Demands
Manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
Corrected vision and hearing within normal range to observe and communicate with patients, providers, and staff
Frequent reaching, stooping, squatting, bending, kneeling, and crouching
Extensive standing and walking required
Occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds
Work environment may involve some exposure to hazards/physical risk
Position requires full range of body motion including ability to position and move patients
