Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during various treatment procedures
- Perform dental radiographs (x-rays) and scans
- Document essential patient information
- Prepare and sterilize instruments, equipment, and patient rooms
- Provide exceptional patient care throughout their visit
- Take impressions of patients' teeth
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with the team and patients
- Maintain a 'team first' and 'patient first' mentality
- Continuously enhance your dentistry knowledge and skills
- Adhere to State, Federal, and local compliance standards
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Fluency in English (verbal and written)
- Familiarity with dental terminology
- Basic computer skills
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certificate of Completion from a Dental Assisting Course required
- Texas RDA License required after 1+ years of certification
- CPR and/or BLS certification required
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- This role may require long periods of sitting or standing
- Work hours may exceed 40 hours per week
- The clinical studio environment can be noisy and distracting
- Exposure to infectious diseases and bloodborne pathogens is possible
- Handling of sharp objects is required
- Potential exposure to harmful chemicals and gases
- Effective communication with others is essential
- Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers may be necessary
- Ability to operate machinery or power tools
- Assess the accuracy and thoroughness of assigned work
- Flexibility to work in various positions and tight spaces
- Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
