Job Summary: The Patient Care Technician provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This role is responsible for accurate documentation of treatment details, assisting with pre- and post-dialysis assessments, and supporting the safe delivery of dialysis therapy. Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct patient care for assigned patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
  • Document dialysis treatment parameters on Dialysis Flow Sheets accurately.
  • Assist licensed nurses with pre- and post-dialysis patient assessments and documentation.
  • Monitor patient condition and promptly report significant changes to the supervisor.
  • Assist with emergency operational procedures and initiate CPR in the event of cardiac or pulmonary arrest.
  • Respond to emergency situations related to dialysis treatment.
Required Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous patient care experience in a hospital or related facility preferred, but not required.
  • Successful completion of a hemodialysis theory and practice training course.
  • Current CPR Certification.
Nice-to-Have Experience:
  • Education in physical sciences or laboratory techniques.
Required Skills:
  • Ability to follow clinical instructions and protocols.
  • Strong observational and documentation skills.
  • Basic life support and emergency response capability.
Preferred Skills:
  • Comfortable working in a dialysis care environment.
  • Communication skills for patient and team interaction.
Additional Skills:
  • Familiarity with dialysis equipment and procedures.
