Salary: Depends on Qualifications Location : Dothan, AL Job Type: Full-Time Job Number: 2025-2026:01 College/Division: WCC-501080-Student Admissions Opening Date: 08/11/2025 Closing Date: 8/26/2025 2:00 PM Central Campus Location: Wallace Community College Position Summary The Assistant Director position will support the Director of Enrollment Services/Registrar with maintaining oversight of several critical enrollment management functions along with implementation of policies and procedures relating to admissions, student records, registration, graduation and orientation. This position works directly with admissions and records staff to effectively provide services to students, prospective students, parents, principals, superintendents, deans, department heads, faculty, alumni, and friends of Wallace Community College. The employee performs other various administrative duties as required. POSTING DATE: AUGUST 12, 2025 SALARY: Appropriate placement on Salary Schedule C3 (range: $44,895 - $91,214). ANTICIPATED START DATE: SEPTEMBER 15, 2025 The position will be based initially at the Wallace Campus in Dothan. More than one position in the same job classification may be filled from the applicants for this position should another vacancy occur during the search process. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following list was developed through a job analysis; however, it is not exhaustive and other duties may be required and assigned.   • Assist the Director in the evaluation, improvements, and implementation of Admissions and Enrollment software (i.e. Banner, National Student Clearinghouse, BDM, Parchment, DegreeWorks, DegreeVerify, CRM, etc.) and technological advancements to support the role of Admissions, Enrollment, and Student Success.
  • Participates in the planning, development, and presentation of orientation to first-year students.
  • Provides support for recruitment efforts by assisting in the administration of the Admissions office and developing, supervising, and training admissions staff.
  • Provides guidance for students during the onboarding process for the College.
  • Serve as a resource for students related to the admissions process, registration process, academic records and grades, evaluation of transcripts for the purpose of awarding degrees and certificates, enrollment verifications, and the production of a timely and accurate transcript.
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Admissions. Employee performs duties related to the management of the admissions process of the College.
  • Assist with planning, improving, and implementing policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day operations of the Admissions and Records offices.
  • Supervise, train, evaluate and provide work direction and guidance to assigned staff.
  • Monitor the work of staff to ensure compliance and accuracy with all state and federal policies and regulations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of regulations, policies, application requirements, and eligibility for Admissions.
  • Resolve problems and complaints from students, faculty, and staff.
  • Assist the Director with begin and end of term processes, as well as set-up.
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Supervision. Provides staff supervision and direction for designated staff.
  • Supervises staff and provides regular feedback based on their ongoing job performance to appropriately enhance development, productivity, and morale.
  • Conducts performance evaluations of designated personnel.
  • Approves time off requests.
  • Recommends training and professional development to enhance the knowledge, skills, and abilities of staff.
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Reporting/ Metrics/Communications. Establishes and maintains accuracy in records and reports, utilizing current and accepted metrics, policies, and procedures. Communicates and disseminates information accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Produces and manages admissions metric reports; develops and implements processes.
  • Collects and assimilates data.
  • Prevents issues and problems through accurate, complete, and well-organized communications.
  • Develops systems that ensure compliance with deadlines and within established time frames.
  • Ensures that College systems, data, and information that are captured are accurate.
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: College Expectations. Dependability, attendance, punctuality, and a commitment to do the job right are essential at all times.
  • Reports to work on time, at appropriate workstation or department during all departmental/position scheduled work days and during all departmental/position scheduled work hours.

  • Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Three (3) years of experience in a college or university setting in student services is required.
  • One year of supervisory experience is required.
  • Ability to work nonstandard hours specifically evenings and weekends is required.
  • Current and valid driver's license with the ability to frequently travel to attend events and activities on the Sparks campus is required.
  • ADVISORY COMMITTEE: The President will appoint an Advisory and Interview Committee to include representatives of the College faculty and staff. This committee will employ appropriate procedures, including the review of application packets, interviews, and demonstration of competency, to determine which applicants are to be recommended to the President for further consideration. From all the applications received, an advisory committee will select the applicants to be interviewed.
