Click for a complete list of Employee Benefits.Position SummaryThe responsibilities of this position will be to facilitate the management and completion of grant-funded research in the Brain Plasticity Lab. The individual will work with the PI, Dr. Sangeetha Madhavan, and be expected to perform all duties and responsibilities associated with the research project, from human subjects review to dissemination of results. The individual will also be expected to supervise undergraduate and graduate students working on the research project and work with the PI to seek external funding and support for future projects. The position will also include teaching courses with the department, including developing curriculum, delivering the course material, performing evaluations, advising students, and attending faculty meetings.Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare materials for submission to grant agencies and foundationsPrepare materials for Human Subjects Institutional Review Board reviewRecruit and enroll study participantsCollect and analyze dataMaintain research equipmentSupervise undergraduate and graduate students working on the research projectAttend project meetings and manage project-related emailDisseminate research results via academic journal articles, reports, presentations, etc.Maintain the budget for the research project.Prepare scheduled reports describing research progressDeveloping the curriculumDelivering the course material (e.g., performing lectures)Evaluating academic progress of studentsMeeting, advising, and counseling students with respect to the course contentAttendance and participation in departmental and college faculty meetingsOther duties as assignedPerform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.Minimum QualificationsA PhD degree in Rehabilitation Sciences, Physiology, Kinesiology, or other field related to the research.3+ years relevant research experience, with particular expertise in neuroimaging.Preferred QualificationsThe University of Illinois System is an equal opportunity employer, including but not limited to disability and/or veteran status, and complies with all applicable state and federal employment mandates.
