Software Systems Architect

ITC is actively seeking an experienced Software Architect to join our team in providing state- of-the-art software and senior level oversite to the NAVAIR contract for FMS Logistics Sustainment Services. The role involves a strategic approach towards the development and integration of the Navy Community applications. The Software Architect will take a lead role in independently designing and developing new software products or major enhancements to existing software. This role calls for the highest-level technical expert, addressing problems of system integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms. The successful candidate will drive the development of new software products to enforce standards, ensuring scalability, performance, and security across several systems and will ensure the successful implementation of appropriate end-to-end solutions to address business and technical needs of the organization while achieving technical, cost, and schedule requirements, as well as customer satisfaction.

  • Lead a development team in the design and execution of software systems.
  • Acts as highest-level technical expert, addressing problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms.
  • Responsible for project completion.
  • Document business requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications for Power Apps, Power Pages, Power Automate, AI Builder, Power BI and Dataverse solutions.
  • Lead the design and development of stand-alone and/or integrated systems. Lead Sprint Planning meetings and spearhead requirements collection, story creation.
  • Performs feasibility analysis on potential future projects for management personnel.
  • Data transfer design using APIs, web services, and other technologies.
  • Lead the development of system security code & design patterns.
  • Implement governance frameworks and security standards for Power Platform development and deployment.
  • Make recommendations on third party tools.
  • Implement & maintain a source control tool along with managing sprint branches & merges.
  • Utilize and leverage a source control tool to ensure code history & merges.
  • Identify and analyze system problems, perform troubleshooting, identify and report data or process integrity issues. Prepare documentation for reporting purposes as required.
  • Participate in meetings with the team, stakeholders, and other meetings as required.
  • Responsible for related deliverables in support of tasking and regular communication to the Program Manager.
  • Design scalable and secure Power Platform solutions, considering best practices for Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven), Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse.
  • Define data models, database architecture, and integration strategies with existing systems (e.g., Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Azure services, third-party applications).
  • Develop a comprehensive technical design document outlining the architecture, components, and functionalities of the proposed Power Platform solutions.
  • End of Sprint demonstration of capabilities and functions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Develop a comprehensive technical design document outlining the architecture, components, and functionalities of the proposed Power Platform solutions.

  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3-10+ years of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or relevant field.
  • IAT Level II certified. Security+ preferred.
  • Able to work independently to design and develop new software products or enhancements to existing software.
  • Extensive experience in leading the design and development of stand-alone and/or integrated systems required.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer systems, test management tools, databases, and requirement tracking software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite to include Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Self-starter that can work independently within program boundaries to accomplish tasks in a fast- paced, high stress environment.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to travel at least quarterly to the customer site or other customer locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in software projects with detailed knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming, Asp.net, MVC, C#, SQL, HTML, JavaScript, Web Services, Web APIs, and Product Lifecycle Management software.
  • Solution architecture experience across functional and technical disciplines of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft 365 (M365) and Dynamics 365 (D365) customer engagement apps, related Microsoft cloud solutions, other third-party technologies.
  • Experienced guiding the migration/refactoring of legacy systems to Cloud and Low-Code Solutions.
  • Experienced in SAFe Agile, Backlog Grooming, and Agile Product Management.
  • Active secret clearance.

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Maryland, ITC Defense is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of Maryland and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and delivery model. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top end of the range, but such a decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
