Entry-Level C++ Backend Services Engineer
Location: Hybrid - Michigan (Warren) or APG, MD
VES, LLC is currently seeking a highly motivated recent college graduate for an Entry-Level C++ Backend Services Engineer position supporting our efforts in implementing Ground Combat Systems' Common Infrastructure Architecture (GCIA) components in Next Combat Vehicles. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on mission-critical software that supports the U.S. Army's ground combat platforms. You will be part of a talented engineering team designing and implementing backend services in Linux-based environments, contributing to advanced defense technology.
General Job Duties:
- Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of C++ backend services for GCIA software.
- Contribute to the development of high-performance and reliable applications on Linux systems.
- Work with senior engineers to analyze requirements and develop software solutions.
- Implement unit tests, debugging tools, and performance optimizations.
- Participate in code reviews and collaborative development within an agile team.
- Support integration and validation of software with ground combat systems.
Desired Requirements:
- Proficiency in C++ and a strong understanding of object-oriented programming.
- Proficient in working with Linux environments and relevant system programming concepts.
- Familiarity with networking, multithreading, or IPC mechanisms is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- A passion for defense technology and software engineering.
- Academic project experience related to real-time or embedded systems is a plus.
- Security clearance eligibility is a plus but not required at entry level.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Research projects or coursework involving C++ backend development are a plus.
