As an Electrical Field Test Technician, you'll take charge of testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning power systems from low to high voltage. You'll also guide and mentor junior team members while working on complex, mission-critical projects in the field.

What You'll Do

  • Travel to client sites toinspect, test, troubleshoot, andstart-upelectrical systems
  • Lead and mentorLevel I and II Trainees and Assistants in technical tasks and field operations
  • Assign work, review performance, and ensure consistent execution of testing procedures
  • Conductacceptance and maintenance testingfor switchgear, relays, transformers, cables, and motor control centers
  • Test and calibratesolid-state and electromechanical relays(including SEL 700G or comparable)
  • Operate tools and software such asEnoserv RTS,Megger, andOmicrontesting equipment
  • Analyze test data, performinsulated fluid sampling, and interpret electrical performance issues
  • Complete Job Hazard Analyses, includingarc flash and shock hazard assessments
  • Document all results in detailedfield service reports
  • Rotate on-call duties for emergency response and service
  • Assist the sales team by providingtechnical expertiseand recommendations
  • Ensure compliance withNETA,NFPA70E, and ABM safety and quality standards

What We're Looking For

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience inelectrical testing and power system services
  • CurrentNETA Level III or IV, orNICET equivalent certification
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring technicians in the field
  • Ability to managemulti-month, medium to large-scale projects
  • Familiarity with NETA ATS/MTS Standards andNFPA70E
  • Proficient inlockout/tagout and hazardous energy control procedures
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Clean driving recordand ability to travel nationally (up to 90%)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or higher inPower Systemsor related field
  • Skilled in troubleshooting electrical faults, especially ground faults
  • Familiarity withgenerator controls,protection systems, and high-voltage substations
