Performs lab procedures such as compatibility testing, reference lab work, specimen processing, test performance, and reporting test results. Also, may perform computer aided labeling, component production, and distribution.

Technical Services General Duties
- Maintenance and storage of blood components including temperature monitoring
- Labeling of blood
- Biohazard disposal
- Quality Control and Preventative Maintenance
- bexWISE Process and bexWISE Affirm Operation
Component Duties
- Component preparation
- Packing recovered plasma
Laboratory Duties
- Qualifications of Apheresis Platelets and Plasma
- Lot Release
- Sending tubes to testing lab
- Receipt of test results
- Handling products with positive results
- Blood grouping, compatibility testing, antibody detection and emergency release of products
- Management of Soot
- RRC Program
RRC Duties
- Pull retention samples and send to Ortho Diagnostics for antigen typings
- Maintain typing in computer
- Recruit new donors for the RRC program based on the needs of the manufacturers
- Maintain donor schedules to donate and prepare RRC donor packets for the donation
- Coordinate with Community Services for RRC donor gifts.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: MT, Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science or chemical, physical, or biological science and Current State of Tennessee licensure.

- Demonstrated AIDET skills daily with donors, guests, customers, employees, and vendors
- Language skills must include reading, writing, and speaking English effectively and following oral and written instructions consistent with policies and procedures, SOPs, or other requirements
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Demonstrate the ability to multi-tasks
- Ability to function as a key team member in a high-level production environment coupled with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and to meet deadlines and show initiative daily
- Demonstrate ability to work without direct supervision
- Must be able to make simple decisions based on well-defined choices

- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, and Outlook
