Including but not limited to:1. Collects and abstracts data from patient medical records, especially those related to cardiac care .. Ensures the accuracy and completeness of the abstracted data. Cross-references information from multiple sources within a patient's medical record .. Adheres to specific clinical data abstraction guidelines and standards, such as those set by the American College of Cardiology(ACC) and presents metrics at designated meetings 4. Enters the abstracted data into a database or registry. This includes maintaining and updating the data as necessary .. Participates in quality assurance processes to ensure data integrity. This involves routine audits of the data or the abstraction process 6. Remains informed about developments in cardiac care and data management to ensure ongoing competency in the role .. Participates in reaccreditation activities. Participates in Continuing Education as necessary.
