Operations include: the filling of entries to form a complete and competitive race card, preparation and drawing of races, proofing and distribution of overnights, changes of riders or other information to ensure accuracy, proofing and finalizing of a live racing program. The Racing Official position covers a wide range of duties and must act, at times as Placing Judge, Paddock Judge, Horse Identifier, Clerk of Scales, Claims Clerk, and/or Clocker. Must act, at times as Placing Judge. These duties include observing races from start to finish, inputting into a computer the horse running order during races to be displayed to the public on the infield tote board and simulcast signal, determining the order of finish using a computer and photo finish systems as tools, preparing screenshots of the photo finish image to be displayed to the public as necessary using a computer system as a tool, plotting of each horses location on the photo finish image using a computer system as a tool.
