If you're passionate about professional growth, safety, and making a real difference, we want to hear from you!What You'll Do:* Design and implement comprehensive training programs across all divisions to elevate employee performance, operational efficiency, and safety compliance.* Collaborate with leadership teams to identify training needs, develop targeted curricula, and align initiatives with operational goals, supporting employee excellence and customer service.* Lead and oversee safety training efforts in compliance with OSHA regulations, fostering a strong safety culture and promoting environmental responsibility throughout the organization.* Deliver engaging, hands-on training through classroom, field, and virtual formats-tailoring content to diverse learning styles and job functions.* Maintain accurate training records and track certifications to ensure compliance with ongoing education requirements, supporting accountability and financial stewardship.* Continuously improve training programs by analyzing feedback and performance data, while providing expert guidance on safety during infrastructure projects and daily operations.For the complete job specification, listing essential duties and desirable qualifications, go to Training & ExperienceMust have a high school diploma or GEDANDMust have at least five (5) years of experience in the construction, maintenance, or operation of water, wastewater, stormwater, streets, or related public infrastructure systems.ANDMust have at least two (2) years of professional or technical experience in conducting training, teaching, or managing safety programs within the utilities, environmental, or industrial safety and health fields.ORMust have a bachelor's degree in education, occupational safety, engineering, environmental science, public administration, or a closely related fieldANDMust have at least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in training development and delivery, within water, wastewater, public infrastructure, or a closely related utility environment. Two years of the required experience must include professional or technical experience in conducting training, teaching, or managing safety programs within the utilities, environmental, or industrial safety and health fields.Necessary Special RequirementsMust have a valid Class E Florida Driver's license at the time of appointment and maintain it as a condition of continued employment.Must obtain and maintain the following certifications within one year of employment: HAZMAT and Oil Spill Response Certification, Energy WorldNet Master Evaluator Certification, Florida Association of Code Enforcement - Fundamentals Certification, Red Cross CPR/AED and Basic First Aid, 16-Hour FDOT Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic Certification and 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety Training.Individuals in this classification are considered essential during emergency and storm situations and must be able to work 16 hours per day for extended periods of time and may be required to be away from their families.NOTE: Preference may be given to candidates who possess a Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Level III Water Distribution System License and/or a Florida Water & Pollution Control Operators Association (FWPCOA) Wastewater Collection System Operator Class C certification.Salary Range$24.1863 to $65.6314/hourly.
