Northwell Health's Transplant Institute and Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine seek a Transplant Pulmonologist to contribute to the vision of comprehensive advanced lung disease and transplant care across the Northwell system. This role, within the Center for Advanced Lung Disease and Transplantation, calls for a candidate with a strong commitment to clinical excellence, administrative leadership, research, and education. Based at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY, the lung transplant program is an integral part of the renowned Northwell Transplant Institute. This Institute unites all solid organ transplant programs—heart, lung, liver, and kidney— fostering robust partnerships with the Departments of Medicine, Cardiology, and Cardiothoracic Surgery, as well as Northwell's Cardiovascular Institute. Northwell's ongoing investment in system-wide organ failure programs across numerous hospitals, regions, and ambulatory sites is supported by a dedicated network of interdisciplinary clinical and administrative professionals. The Institute's highly trained team of medical and surgical transplant specialists utilizes innovative, collaborative approaches to enhance outcomes and expand access to transplantation for patients at all stages of end-organ failure. Transplant procedures are performed at two leading hospitals with state-of-the-art surgical facilities and specialized staff: North Shore University Hospital and Cohen Children's Medical Center. Patients also benefit from access to over 40 convenient office locations for pre- and post-transplant care. The Northwell Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine comprises over 35 faculty members with active subspecialty programs in Interstitial Lung Disease, Pulmonary Hypertension, Cystic Fibrosis, Interventional Pulmonology, and an Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) Program for acute lung injury/ARDS, among other areas of expertise. Northwell's robust ECMO and ECMO-to-go program is supported by the Northwell Center for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) , which operates one of the nation's largest hospital-based EMS services, an integrated centralized transfer center, and a multi-aircraft air medical transport program. This position offers exceptional opportunities for educational engagement with trainees, including Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellows, residents, and medical students, as well as avenues for pursuing translational research in lung transplantation.
