The Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of GloryBee's Health and Safety program. The primary function of this position is to identify, eliminate, and control hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or to property damage using safety standards, best management practices, company partners and analytical techniques, in compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations. The EHSC is also responsible for all Oregon OSHA employee health and safety training. Responsible for developing an Environmental Management System from existing sustainability policies and initiatives and will drive continuous improvement in GloryBee's social and environmental impact strategy. This position will report to our Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

This role will be responsible for Safety and Compliance as well as Sustainability - we are a B CORP!

Safety and Compliance

  • Identifies workplace hazards to safety, health and company owned assets; communicates internally and externally on behalf of the company regarding safety and risk related aspects; recommends corrective action for safety violations and warnings; partners with company leadership to identify and address potential compliance gaps to minimize organizational risk

  • Perform Job Safety Analysis' (JSAs) to determine employee exposure, and develop, propose and institute safe work practices accordingly.

  • Material Handling Equipment training coordination and record keeping

  • Maintain all required health and safety documentation. Making sure all records and reports are timely, complete and accurate - safeguarding the confidentiality of all employee information. Reports include: OSHA Logs; OSHA Inspections; Accident-Incident Reports; safety training records; facility inspection reports; SDS information, inspections and safety violation records. Serves as the primary contact for inspections or onsite visits from OSHA, Fire Marshall, Urgent Care or other agencies; follows up with leadership or agencies post inspection or onsite visit; facilitates and monitors quarterly and random facility safety inspections

Sustainability

  • Manages tracking of company-wide sustainability metrics and recommends targets, and all data required for B Corp certification

  • Oversee internal and external communications, compiles annual sustainability report and related disclosure materials, and serves as point of contact for vendors and customers requiring sustainability information

  • Reports on sustainability internally to GloryBee staff and develop appropriate department trainings

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: minimum skills, knowledge, education, certifications, etc., and related job experience (yrs./months) that incumbent typically must have to perform the essential functions of the job acceptably.

  • Associates degree or higher in Occupational Safety and Health or related field

  • 5 years of industry specific experience in a leadership capacity

  • Intermediate level skill in MS Office Suite to include: Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Adobe, Smartsheet, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to learn a variety of software programs and systems

  • Experience capturing metrics and producing various reports

  • Solid knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to safety, sustainability, DOT, and environmental aspects

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • High level of attention to detail, organizational skills and demonstrated follow through

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead and engage

  • Demonstrated experience leading effective trainings and presentations
