Job Title: CT Technologist - Diagnostic Radiology Location: Long Island City, NY Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Contract Duration: 13 weeks Department: Radiology Diagnostic Pay Rate: $68/hour negotiable (**Per-diem rates are also applicable for qualified candidates) Key Responsibilities:
- CT Imaging: Perform high-quality CT scans (e.g., abdominal, thoracic, neurological, extremities) following prescribed protocols to ensure diagnostic accuracy.
- Radiation Safety: Utilize appropriate kV and mA techniques to produce quality images while adhering to ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.
- Quality Control: Conduct daily calibration checks on CT equipment to ensure proper functioning before patient studies.
- Patient Care: Prepare and position patients for CT examinations, explaining procedures and addressing concerns to ensure comfort and cooperation.
- Contrast Administration: Administer intravenous and oral contrast agents as per physician orders, verifying patient history and monitoring adverse reactions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs, manuals, and charge documents, reporting equipment issues to comply with regulatory standards.
- Data Management: Retrieve and store patient films and electronic data for radiologist interpretation, ensuring timely access.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Licensing & Certification: New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH) licensure as a Radiologic Technologist (LRT), ARRT certification in Radiography and CT, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of CT experience; graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in operating CT equipment, adjusting imaging parameters, and performing quality assurance tests.
- Patient Interaction: Strong interpersonal skills to assess and respond to patient needs before, during, and after procedures.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to evaluate images for clarity and diagnostic value, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
