TRANSPORTATION TRUCK DRIVER - FIRE EMERGENCY
: Job Details :

Operates gas and/or diesel heavy trucks with trailer units by driving transportation trucks with high-bed, low-bed, or tilt-bed trailers with winch as well as dump trucks, helitenders, fuel tenders, heavy water tenders, etc.; loading/unloading fuel; hauling heavy equipment, operational and disabled fire department vehicles, and freight (e.g., bulldozers, fire engines, crew buses, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and Fire Department supplies/containers); observing best practices of driving, adhering to all laws of traffic, and using red lights and sirens when necessary to support Fire Department operations. Conducts inspection of trucks, trailers, helitenders, etc. by examining exterior, cab interior, engine compartment, undercarriage, tires, brake system, safety equipment, etc. to report identified defects to supervisor and/or mechanic, identify preventive maintenance needs, request repairs, and to confirm the safety of the vehicle and equipment during transport.
