Role Overview:

We are seeking an early-career level actuarial professional to support Personal Lines Pricing for products sold through Private Client Select Insurance Services (PCS). The Senior Actuarial Assistant will be responsible for a range of responsibilities in pricing and in working closely with business partners. We are looking for an individual who is internally motivated, intellectually curious, can manage multiple priorities, and is driven to improve existing processes and make a positive impact on the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze indicated rate need, to determine adequacy of premium charged in assigned states.

• Develop rating proposals, in partnership with the Product Management team.

• Produce state rate filings and respond to department inquiries and objections.

• Produce pricing analyses as needed for various segments of business.

• Support analytical tools for use in pricing and underwriting activities.

• Ensure end-to-end quality in rating processes.

• Assist with customized pricing guidance for unique risks.

• Extract/review data quality and help build databases relevant to our activities.

• Work closely with compliance team to support regular reporting needs.

• Improve documentation of all procedures.

• Make progress on actuarial exams, if pursuing actuarial credentials.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related area.
  • 1+ year of post-college analytical work experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Work well both independently and as part of a team, in a full-time remote role.
  • Strong business and collaboration skills, and responsive to service needs and operational demands.
  • Proficiency in Excel, and knowledge of SQL, R, or other similar programming languages preferred.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, customer focus and interpersonal skills.

Location:

This is a remote role, but we prefer candidates near NYC, Schaumburg, IL, or St. Petersburg, FL for occasional in-person collaboration and networking.
