Job Title: Locum to Perm - Medical Director - Geriatric Medicine

Join a dedicated team at a leading healthcare facility in Pensacola, FL, focused on the well-being of seniors through the innovative Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) model. This approach prioritizes serving seniors with chronic care needs in their communities, fostering independence and dignity while delivering comprehensive medical and supportive services. As the Medical Director, you ll play a pivotal role in overseeing participant care and enhancing healthcare delivery in a collaborative environment.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough history and physical examinations on new participants and perform periodic reassessments.
  • Develop medical treatment plans and provide essential services in various settings where participants reside.
  • Evaluate applicants for the PACE Organization and their caregivers and assist in intake and assessment decisions.
  • Discuss each participant's medical conditions and prognosis to aid in their future care planning.
  • Execute assignments in a shared, collaborative culture across divisions.
  • Collaborate in the nursing treatment program for participants.
  • Contribute to achieving operating goals as a member of the leadership team.
  • Educate and advise the interdisciplinary team on diagnosis implications, cognitive and physical function, and treatment options.
  • Participate in team and family conferences and decision-making processes.
  • Supervise health care and treatment programs developed by the interdisciplinary team.
  • Perform physical examinations, order and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests, and record results systematically.
  • Participate in provider on-call rotation as required.
Qualifications:
  • Current and active plenary physician license to practice in the state of Florida -REQUIRED
  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice -REQUIRED. Board Certification in Geriatrics preferred .
  • Experience or added qualifications in geriatrics -Preferred.
  • CDS Certification and DEA Registration -REQUIRED
  • Previous supervisory experience -REQUIRED
  • Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population.
  • Effective skills in physical assessment and chronic disease management for frail older adults.
  • Desire to work in a creative alternate health care setting.
  • Able to manage changing priorities according to participant needs.
License and Certification Requirements:
  • Active physician license in Florida
  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice (Geriatrics preferred)
  • CDS Certification
  • DEA Registration
