Shamrock Technologies is seeking a technically and commercially proficient Product Manager to lead the strategic direction of our micronized wax and specialty additive product lines, serving the Inks, Coatings, Plastics, Lubricants, and related chemical industries.
This role involves managing the product lifecycle from ideation to commercialization, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and making data-driven decisions to optimize product performance and profitability.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage product line strategies that align with company goals.
- Monitor product performance and make data-driven decisions to optimize product portfolio, profitability, and market share; ensure volume forecasts are consistent with market trends.
- Develop and manage pricing strategies that optimize profitability while remaining competitive in the market.
- Assist Commercial team with competitive product, pricing, and margin analysis; support sales leaders with preparing and negotiating supply contracts.
- Lead cross-functional teams in the development, launch, and commercialization of new products; collaborate with Operations, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to manage decisions in support of the product line.
- Identify and implement process improvements and technologies across functions to enhance safety performance, drive operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
- Grow company knowledge of American markets by gathering, analyzing, and reporting business intelligence; recommend strategies to maintain competitive advantage.
- Support the implementation of marketing plans to generate awareness, communicate value, and differentiate product lines from competitors.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the American markets by gathering, monitoring, analyzing and reporting of competitive intelligence and publicly disclosed competitive information and make recommendations for the business to respond effectively and timely to competitive activity.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field; MBA/advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in product management or technical marketing within the chemical manufacturing industry, ideally with a focus on micronized powders or additives.
Professional Skills
- Strong understanding of formulation chemistry and application requirements in inks, coatings, plastics, and lubricants.
- Good understanding of the financial aspects of the product line, including pricing, margins, and profitability.
- Proven ability to translate technical capabilities into commercial success.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills; ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Project Management: Skilled in managing large-scale projects, budgets, and cross-functional teams.
- Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to identifying opportunities and resolving issues.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Willing to work in a general laboratory environment.
- Required to wear PPE and complete safety training.
- Able to stand/sit for extended periods of time, may include bending/stooping.
- Prepared for prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
FLSA Classification: Exempt and reports to the President.
