To support our mission, we also advocate on behalf of young children, train educators and human services providers, and provide research on the impact of early education on homeless children.

Summary of Position

The Annual Giving and Events Manager at Horizons is a key member of our fundraising team, closely collaborating with the AVP of Development and other leaders to bolster our mission of aiding children and families experiencing homelessness. This role is central to engaging and nurturing relationships with donors through strategic cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. • Identify and convert special event donors, a population historically known for one-time gifts, into annual fund donors to build the major gift donor pipeline.
  • Research annual fund prospects for portfolio placement, in consultation with the Development team, to maximize giving potential for each unique donor.
  • Actively engage and steward donors to cultivate lasting relationships and secure continued support.

Event Management and Leadership

  • In collaboration with the AVP of Development and the Individual Giving and Events Coordinator, support the planning and execution of key fundraising events such as the Annual Breakfast, Golf Tournament, Spring Gala, Boston Marathon, and Young Professional Network activities.
  • Manage volunteer committees to support event-based fundraising efforts and leverage community networks for donor cultivation.

External Partnerships and Representation

  • Liaise with external event planning consultants as needed for major events, ensuring seamless execution and impactful donor experiences.
  • Be comfortable presenting our mission and impact to diverse audiences, from individuals to small groups, to inspire engagement.

Collaborative Fundraising Efforts

  • Work closely with the broader Development team to maximize the impact of Horizons' signature events on fundraising goals and donor relations.
  • Meet or exceed annual fundraising targets, including goals for donor visits, event participation, and revenue generation.

Starting Salary & Benefits

$75,000 – 80,000, depending on experience and skills. Horizons' fair and equitable pay practices includes eligibility for annual performance-based increase or bonus and guaranteed annual Cost of Living Adjustments.
