Responsibilities

In keeping with the Marian Regional Medical Center health care philosophy, the Security Officer performs duties related to the security of the Medical Center buildings and grounds. This includes preventing fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry, and ensuring the personal safety of employees, patients, and visitors.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid California Driver License (CA DL)
  • Must possess a valid California Security Guard Card Permit (SEC GUARD)
  • Must successfully complete the Hospital Security Officer Training Program within 90 days

Preferred Requirements:

  • At least six (6) months of experience in security or law enforcement

Special Skills:

  • English and Spanish speaking required for employees hired after 10/11/14
  • Ability to perform key activities satisfactorily
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific, technical, and legal documents
  • Respond to inquiries or complaints from patients, employees, regulatory agencies, or the public
  • Effectively present information to management, public groups, and hospital committees
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
  • Knowledge of security policies and procedures and interdepartmental interfaces
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Access
