Job SummarySupports critical Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) systems at a 911 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) and partner agencies. Responsible for ensuring the reliability of systems such as Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Law Records Management System (LRMS), Fire Records Management System (FRMS), and related technologies. Provides application and desktop support , assists with network and cloud-based services, and contributes to the administration of public safety, Geographic Information System (GIS) and mappingsolutions in coordination with GIS staff to ensure system availability, data accuracy, and CJIS compliance.Job Responsibilities
- Manages and maintains databases and develops reports to support public safety operations.
- Administers and monitors cloud-based solutions and integrations, identifies and resolves network issues, and performs regular system backups and disaster recovery options to meet public and data safety standards and requirements.
- Documents technical processes, configurations and troubleshooting steps for training. Trains staff on new technologies and software updates .Ensures all systems comply with relevant legal and regulatory standards, particularly those pertaining to CJIS security policies.
- Oversees the installation, configuration, and maintenance of systems essential for 911 operations, and collaborates with other IT team members to implement or enhance IT systems. Supports the relationship between Pitkin County government and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with citizens, visitors, and County staff; and maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge And Skills
- Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support, preferably in a public safety or similar critical environment, with significant experience in PC Windows/desktop support, Business Networking's, and Active Directory environments..
- Familiarity with public safety systems such as CAD, LRMS, FRMS, Public Safety maps, and mobile corrections platforms required.
- Proficient in managing and troubleshooting Windows desktop environments.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) preferred.
- Experience with GIS in a public safety context, including working knowledge of NG911 GIS data models such as NENA NG911 GIS Data Model).
- Experience with ESRI ARC GIS and public Safety Mapping preferred.
- GIS tools such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online preferred.
- Understanding of Information Technology Infrastructure Library ( ITIL) frameworks and public safety IT best practices preferred.

Physical Demands and Working Environment
- Work is performed in a standard office environment.
- Occasionally participates in on-call rotation for after-hours support to address urgent system, network, or desktop issues.
