Our client, a fast-growing, better-for-you meat manufacturer with multiple facilities across the U.S., is seeking an FSQA Manager to support their expanding operations.
This role will be based in a brand-new facility in Knox County, Illinois. Our client serves a range of co-manufacturing and private label partners and takes pride in their focus on innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Role Overview:
This is a key leadership role responsible for driving food safety and quality initiatives. The Manager will help shape the department's strategy while ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain food safety and quality programs that meet USDA, FDA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support SQF certification processes and ongoing program execution.
- Conduct routine audits to ensure adherence to internal standards and external regulations.
- Partner with FSQA teams at each location to strengthen systems, consistency, and overall performance.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical support to site-level FSQA teams.
- Serve as a key FSQA voice on the company's leadership team.
- Lead investigations related to product complaints and ensure effective corrective actions.
- Collaborate with operations to analyze FSQA data, identify trends, and implement preventative strategies.
- Support preparation and execution of third-party, customer, and regulatory audits.
- Help develop and roll out quality-related training programs.
- Assist in standardizing policies, procedures, and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Food Safety, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience overseeing FSQA functions in a food manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience in meat or protein processing is required.
- Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred.
