We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop authentication libraries that secure access for Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and Authenticator, as well as third-party apps. This role involves designing secure, scalable, and high-performance authentication components to enable seamless single sign-on (SSO) and access to cloud resources. You will collaborate with product managers, security experts, and engineering teams to ensure our solutions meet high standards of security, reliability, and usability.

This Hybrid Position is located in Redmond, Washington or Atlanta, Georgia. Relocation support is provided, and candidates must reside within 50 miles of the location.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop features to enhance developer and customer experience
• Follow modern software engineering practices through design reviews
• Engage with open source communities to deliver customer-centric features
• Improve test coverage, organize integration tests, and resolve issues
• Ensure code is testable, portable, reliable, and maintainable
• Collaborate to create cohesive end-to-end user experiences
• Focus on customer needs using a data-driven approach

QualificationsMinimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field AND 4+ years of experience with Java or Kotlin
• OR equivalent experience
• 2+ years of Android development experience

Additional/Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience with Java or Kotlin (or equivalent with higher education)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of security best practices and protocols like OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML

Salary range: USD $119,800 - $234,700 annually (U.S. nationwide). Specific locations may vary. Benefits and additional pay details are available at Microsoft Careers.
