As an Assistant Store Manager, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting the Store Manager in daily operations, maintaining inventories, store appearance, and completing daily paperwork.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Greets and assists customers in a positive, approachable manner. Answers questions and resolves customer inquiries and concerns.
- Maintains a presence in the store by providing excellent customer service.
- Ensures a clean, well-stocked store for customers.
- Supervises, trains, and develops Store Associates on Family Dollar operating practices and procedures, under the Store Manager's direction.
- Assists in unloading merchandise, organizing, and transferring stock from the stockroom to the store.
- Helps in ordering merchandise, record keeping, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
- Supports loss prevention efforts.
- Assumes management responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Follows all company policies and procedures.
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to interpret operational directives.
- Retail management experience preferred.
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly, with occasional lifts up to 55 lbs, and to perform physical activities like walking, standing, stooping, etc.
- Flexible, full-time availability including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Skills: Customer focus, organizational skills, communication, problem-solving, job knowledge, relationship management.
